Total

Dance Marathon just revealed the total raised for the kids at St. V's:
$126,239.79!!!!!!!!!!!

CONGRATS EVERYBODY!

Live auction

There's an auction going on right now with some fun stuff going - a lot of art by miracle kids, and a lot of autographed BGSU memorabilia. This are going well ... and I'm happy because I won a football autographed by the new BGSU football coaching staff. Sweet!

Bikers are here!

The bikers have arrived! Bikers are people who have ridden their bikes all the way from Cincinnati to Bowling Green, from Friday to today. What a celebration! Those bikers have become such a close group. Congrats bikers on a wonderful accomplishment!

Marathon runners

A couple of soccer players, in support of Dance Marathon, just completed an entire marathon on the track above the basketball courts! Great job guys, you deserve some water now!

Athlete hour

So athletes from all available sports teams showed up, including the entire football team. New BGSU football coach Dave Clawson started the event up with a rally, and everybody has had a wonderful time! The athletes are such great characters and are leading events relevant to their sports, including basketball shooting, soccer goal-shooting, golf, and football toss. It speaks volumes to the characters of our student athletes - these are outstanding young men and women, and they are rallying behind the cause of Dance Marathon - FOR THE KIDS!! I will have pictures up soon in the photo album!!

Morning at DM

The sun has come up, and believe me, that is a welcome sight after being up all night. Dance Marathon is still very alive, and many of the dancers have recently enjoyed massages as rewards for keeping going strong all day and night long. Keep it up, guys!

Late Night at DM

Late night is upon us, and none of the energy has left! There have been numerous line dances performed, and I found it amazing how many line dances different people know by heart! At this point, the lights are out, the glow sticks are everywhere, and it is truly a sight to behold!

Night is falling

Night is falling, but the energy is still high - the morale captains sure are doing their job. Kudos!

Faculty and Staff hour

So a bunch of faculty and staff members showed up and participated in games, often involving songs from "their" era. It was quite fun seeing profs letting loose and dancing, but it was even more fun seeing current students enjoying dancing to "Twist and Shout" and other classics. Very fun!

All the line dances

Morale captains from throughout the years just did line dances from 2006 up to now. It's really amazing seeing how passionate morale captains have always been, from three years ago up to now. The passion of Dance Marathon and the love for all of these kids is quite evident here. This is an organization to be proud of!

COSMOS at BG

So COSMOS is a bunch of students and faculty who are big into science and math, and they do some really cool and fun science demos. Currently several of them are in the back of Dance Marathon showing some videos and doing small demonstrations. I just saw a cool video of a bunch of students walking on water. Yup, it's possible, if the right additives are in the water. Also, they showed a video of somebody lying on a bed of nails while getting a cinder block smashed on their chest. Because of pressure distribution, this is possible without any kind of injury. Isn't science cool?

Line Dance

Just so I can say it publicly ... the line dance ROCKS! The morale captains just went through it again, and its clear that everybody loves line dance 2009. Great job guys!

Ballroom dancing

OK ... so I am possibly the worst dancer on the planet ... and with many witnesses to attest to it! But even I can learn how to ballroom dance from the instructor here. Nice work - we've got some ballroom dancers!

Dance Marathon 2009 is finally here!

All I have to say is ... WOW! The energy and enthusiasm is so high right now! All the dancers ran in by their team colors and I cannot truly fathom just how many dancers there are this year. Unbelievable. Mayor Quinn pumped up the crowd and reminded what all of this work is for ... FOR THE KIDS!!

A representative from the hospital talked to us about what all of our money goes to. It is truly amazing how much money Dance Marathon has raised throughout the years, and all of the kids that we have saved. Truly mind-blowing.

Right now, people are learning to line dance. The energy is unbelievable!!

If you'd like to stop by, go to the Rec Center at BGSU, and we'll be pretty easy to find!! Check back often, I'll keep you posted.
